THIS CAR IS SOLD Don Edmunds famous GREY GHOST 1940’s Dooling F Super Cyclone Midget race car, made for Lindsey Hopkins, is 20 inches long. Both Edmunds and Hopkins are Indy 500 legends. Lindsey owned Indy 500 cars from 1951-82. A major stock holder in Coca Cola, he was a true gentleman, a great Indy owner and also owned the New Orleans Saints with John Mecom. His cars achieved many good finishes, 2 second places, and inducted into Indy 500 Hall OF Fame in 2003. Unfortunately he owned the cars Bill Vukovich and Bobby Marshman got killed in. Edmunds drove at Indy from 1957-59. Rookie of the Year in 1957, he suffered severe injuries at Indy in 58. Edmunds turned his talents to designing and building fine race cars. Building hundreds of Sprint Cars, his 4 torsion bar design was the hot set up for years. His model race cars are legendary and are the best of the best but rarely seen for sale as they were a very limited hand made production. This seldom seen car will make a great addition to any collection.
