Description

Sold 1941 Plymouth coupe stunt car from the Joie Chitwood Thrill Show, presented in 1:18 scale. The circa-1945 car measures 9 inches long and is one of two examples made.

This professionally crafted diorama recreates a Chitwood stunt car in a ramp-to-ramp jump. In 1945, Joie Sr. perfected the ramp-to-ramp jump after Lucky Teter was killed performing the stunt in 1942. Joie Chitwood Jr., in collaboration with artist Calvin Bensch II, developed the special effects and details for this rendition, with the car shown in midair between the ramps.

The display includes a custom cherry wood diorama case with a mirrored back. The case measures 14 inches long, 9 1/2 inches wide, and 9 inches high, and the car can be removed from the case. Please check photos, as they are part of the description.

These were handmade for a limited time. This is #2, the final example built, and it is numbered and signed by Joie Jr. The last picture shows a real jump for reference only and is not included.
