THIS CAR IS SOLD. Don Edmunds’ famous GREY GHOST 1940s Dooling F Super Cyclone Midget race car was made for Lindsey Hopkins and measures 20 inches long. Both Edmunds and Hopkins are Indy 500 legends.

Lindsey Hopkins owned Indy 500 cars from 1951 to 1982. A major Coca-Cola stockholder, he was an Indy car owner and co-owned the New Orleans Saints with John Mecom. His cars achieved many strong finishes, including two second-place results, and he was inducted into the Indy 500 Hall of Fame in 2003. Hopkins owned the cars driven by Bill Vukovich and Bobby Marshman when they were killed.

Edmunds drove at Indy from 1957 to 1959 and was Rookie of the Year in 1957. After suffering severe injuries at Indy in 1958, he turned his talents to designing and building race cars. He built hundreds of Sprint Cars, and his four-torsion-bar design was widely used for years. His model race cars were produced in very limited handmade quantities and are rarely offered for sale.
