Early 1900 steam powered car, working live with unpainted driver 15 inches long. This is a Mamod based steam car was made in UK by an experienced craftsman. Features include a live steam engine, active steering, hand made and unpainted driver and instructions. From 1906 -1911 steam power developed more available horsepower and a Stanley steam powered car held the land speed record at 127 mph for 5 years. The gas and electric cars became more powerful and the electric starter helped. The end of steam use, except commercially in trains and large equipment. I was told the car is operational, looks lightly used if any, but untested by me. Extreme caution is recommended as some pieces get very hot and pressurized. This is not a child’s toy and the adult operator should be familiar with dangers, proper lubrication, running and safety procedures.
