Doepke Toys 1952 Jaguar XK 140 steel toy race car. This beautiful 15 inch long race car looks like original paint in good condition complte and was well built in Ohio USA. Steerable steering and rear leaf springs. Phil Hill drove the XK 120-40 to many victories and the car was well known for performance in ralleys and road racing. In 1946 Charles Doepke with his brother Fredrick started Doepke Toy Co. in Oakley, Oh outside of Cincinnati. In 1950 production was moved to Rossmoyne, Oh. Doepke toys were loved by the kids by their uncanny realistic features and loved by the parents because they were so well built. In 1959 because of lower cost competitors and rise in steel costs Doepke was forced to shut down. The well built toys are very popular with collectors. Sure to be an investment toy. Car weighs about 8 pounds but SHIPS FAST AND FREE IN US.
