Exoto 1963 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport coupe race car #3 for Sebring 12 hour race. This is authentic livery chassis #4. Driven by Delmo Johnson and David Morgan. This investment grade highly detailed 9 in. race car has full opening parts, steering function, numbered and retired. All graphics are Tampo printed directly on the body to prevent peeling decals. Unique to the #3 car was brake ducts, the whip antenna for the radio and clear headlight lens covers. Car is new in unopened box. This car started 12th, mechanical woes reduced the finish to 32nd place. SHIPS FAST AND FREE. In 1962 Zora Arkus Duntov began top secret work on a lightweight Chevy Corvette to win Sebring 12 and Le Mans 24. The plan was after the 5 Prototypes showed there stuff, 125 production street beasts would be built. However, the GM boardroom put a stop to the project.  Only 5 prototypes were built. The 377 cu. in. V8 developed 550 HP. The Special Grand Sport Corvettes privateers were a force to contend with from 1964-67. Thanks to Roger Penske, John Mecom, Jim Hall and others.
