Early wood-body tether racing design
Forester .29 ignition engine and round rear-end case
Description
CAR IS SOLD. 1940’s Peerless 1st design wood body tether race car was made in Cleveland, Ohio. Powered by a Forester .29 ignition engine with all the electronics necessary, this early-design racer has a round rear-end case. It was one of the best-looking scale racers of the time.
The Peerless Model Airplane Company entered the racing fray with a kit car intended for smaller-displacement engines. It was part of a golden era for tether car racing, when engines, cars, tires, and fuels developed quickly as manufacturers competed for speed.
This car is approximately 15 inches long and is complete with electronics, a .29 Forester engine with good compression, tank, fuel-proof paint, and tether bridle. All tires are good; the two rear tires are Peerless, and one has a slight flat spot. Please check photos, as they are part of the description and this is the car you will receive. Always FREE Shipping with full coverage insurance. Florida residents, please add 7% State Sales Tax or wait to pay from a soon-to-follow invoice.
