Steam powered car, early 1900’s working live with unpainted driver 15 inches long. This is a Mamod based steam car was made in UK by an experienced craftsman. Features include a live steam engine, active steering, hand made and hand painted driver and instructions. From 1906 -1911 steam power developed more available horsepower and a Stanley steam powered car held the land speed record at 127 mph for 5 years. The gas and electric cars became more powerful and the electric starter helped to end use of steam except commercially in trains and large equipment. I was told the car is operational, looks lightly used if any, but untested by me. Extreme caution is recommended as some pieces get very hot and pressurized. This is not a child’s toy and the adult operator should be familiar with dangers, proper lubrication, running and safety procedures. Use live steam at your own risk of injury and proper accessories are needed. Makes a great conversational decor or art piece in any office or man cave.
