Carousel 1 Rathmann Simoniz Spl. Kurtis Kraft Roadster race car Indy 500
$ 199.99
1962 Kurtis Kraft Indy 500 roadster race car driven by Jim Rathmann and modified my master mechanic Smokey Yunick for the Indy 500. This would be the 110th and last Indy Car built br Frank Kurtis. The wing was used in practice several times but eventually discarded for the more conventional roadster. The wing was not allowed the next year because of a rule change. The rear suspension was also modified by Yunick similar to an independent rear suspension on the Cooper Climax. All three original boxes and a COA are included.The car finished ninth and the race was won by Rodger Ward. This is a rare hard to find model with all the pieces as the wing is removable. The hood raises to reveal the Offy engine.FREE SHIPPING.
