Description
Offenhauser racing engine 1:6 diecast metal display model by GMP. This 255 cubic-inch Offenhauser “Offy” racing engine and gearbox model includes the original box, display stand, and acrylic cover.
The 255 cubic-inch Offenhauser engine dominated open-wheel racing for almost 50 years. It remained competitive through the mid-1970s with turbocharging; the 2.65-liter four-cylinder engine could develop over 1,000 horsepower. The final Offy victory in Championship racing came at Trenton in 1978 in Gordon Johncock’s Wildcat race car.
The mounted display piece measures 6.5 in. long by 4.5 in. wide and weighs about 5 pounds. It has a finished display plaque, acrylic cover, and a 7 in. x 9 in. base with felt pads. Light assembly is required.

Limited production of 500.
