1917 Harley Davidson 8 valve board track racing motorcycle Deluxe Model in large 1:6 scale. This beautiful 13 in. long motorcycle is a high-quality metal, hand-built model with a custom wood stand. The Deluxe custom model has competition numbers that vary and a custom labeled wood display stand.
. Also listed without rider. Indian motorcycles dominated early racing, but Harley quickly took over and the fight for superiority was on. The 8 Valve had 4 valves per cylinder in hemispherical heads and domed pistons for high-compression performance. The speeds these purpose-built racing bikes attained on the long, high-banked tracks were over 100 MPH. Suspension and brakes did not exist, and mufflers were not yet invented. AMA did not approve brakes until 1965.
