1971 LeMans Sunoco Ferrari 512 M Sunoco Penske #11 race car driven by Mark Donohue and David Hobbs. This gorgeous car is hand made in resin by Italian Craftsman at Rare Models. This very limited production model only 50 made in 1:18 scale race car is new in original box. The Ferrari 512 made a strong showing in previous races Daytona and Sebring, Porsche went all out for this race and only private entries were entered for Ferrari. At the top of the list was Penske and the car started 5th for the start of the 24 hour race. This was the last year for the “LeMans” driver running start and officials opted for the safer rolling start in the years to come. The Ferrari 512 was clocked on track at a top speed 222.6 and the 917 LH Porsche at 224.4. The updated Porsches finished 1-2 and Ferrari 512 3rd and 4th.
