1962 Pontiac race car driven by Fireball Roberts prepared by Smokey Yunick in the Nascar Grand National Series. This rare beautiful 12 inch race car is 1:18 scale car by Ertl is in original box and seldom seen on the market. Box shows some wear car is in very good condition and shows great detail and color. Only 2000 produced. Plastic on doors is for shipping. Rare trading card included. Fireball won 2 races in 1963 but they were big ones Daytona Feb race and Daytona July race. Roberts ran 206 races over 15 years. He won 33 top tens 122 and 32 poles. He continued to win even after Nascar started moving from the short tracks to the larger Speedways in the late 50’s and 60’s. Fireball finished in the top five 45% and the top 10 59% of the time. Sadly he was fatally injured in a crash at the World 600 at Charlotte in 1964.
