Description

Quartzo 1:18 Lotus 49B High Wing F1 Race Car driven by Mario Andretti in his first Formula 1 race. Andretti qualified on pole position for the 1968 United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, New York. The model comes in its original box and is described as being in like-new condition.

Andretti encountered mechanical problems on lap 32 after being knocked sideways and off the track. He charged back through the field but lost the clutch and retired from the race. He went on to win the Indy 500 in 1969 and later won the 1978 Formula 1 World Championship driving for Lotus. Mario retired in 1994 and works with his son Michael on the IndyCar race team.
