$ 399.99
Exoto 1966 Penske Chevy L88 Corvette Stingray #6 Daytona 24 driven by Dick Gulfstrand, Geo Wintersteen, and Ben Moore to GT class victory. This beautiful 9 in long L88 Corvette race car is in the original box and sports several fully removable panels. This reveals the details and the potent 427 engine. This was Rodger Penske’s first entry and effort as a car owner and Team Penske never looked back. Penske purchased a Chevy Dealership in Philly and was asked to retire from driving. His main Goal in Racing became to own a first class Racing Team. Roger recalls he got $250. to put on several Sunoco decals and it was not an easy class win. He took Duntov’s advise and used Gulfstrand as the head driver. Early in the long race the front end got knocked off the car. They obeyed the rules and got thru the night by taping several sets of 2 flash lights on the front to comply. A 12th place overall and GT class win and Team Penske never stopped growing.
