1970 Steve McQueen Porsche 908/02 #48 end place Sebring 12 in 1:18 by Autoart. The new race car is in original box and doors, hood and rear deck open. This is considered to be one of the best Sebring races in history. It was the first rolling start that has remained since. McQueen and Revson ran in the top 10 most of the race. Accidents and attrition moved them to 3rd. With 30 minutes left Team Manger of Ferrari put Andretti in the 21 car and he went out a lap behind in third. Revson and McQueen took the lead when Differt pittied his Porsche 917 with a hub proble. Only 1 lap left and Anfretti chased down Revson for the win. McQueen and Revson did win the 3 liter class and 2nd overall. McQueen went on to film the movie “LeMans”. Nicked name the “King of Cool”, Steve sadly he died in 1980 at the early age of 50 while undergoing experimental treatment for cancer in Mexico
