$ 499.00
1967 Parnelli Jones Indy 500 turbine race car by Replicarz in large 1:18 scale. This beautiful 9 inch race car is in very good condition in original box. Very limited edition and very collectible. Jones qualified the car in sixth place at 166.075 but quickly took the lead and rarely lost the lead, However with less than eight miles left in the race coasted into the pits with a $2.60 transmission bearing failure. The car ran again the following year and crashed by Joe Leonard. It was donated to the Smithsonian Museum and is often seen in the Speedway Museum. Barnes Wallis designed the car and presented the idea to Dan Gurney and Carroll Shelby and they turned it down. Granatelli liked it and introduced the side by side concept that had been previously used by Smokey Yunick. Granatelli also added four wheel drive to the design. Rule changes by USAC later in the year made it not competitive. SHIPS FAST AND FREE in US. Please check photos as they are part of the description and this is the car you will receive.
